There are companies interview candidates for 5, 6 even 7 times, administer written tests and then they either put the position on hold, or they ghost candidates or they hire someone else they had decided to hire from the beginning.
I call it "new trend" because 10 years ago, in most companies, there was just 1 or maximum 2 interviews and that was it.
