High and dry at work - Need direction

I work as a superintendent for a medium size GC and have just completed a 1 year project. As we neared the end I approached my boss about what he had in mind for me next. He indicated he would put me on another ongoing project. Now the time has come for me to transition but I am getting no answers when I ask when and how I should be taking on the next project. My PM on the project that is ending shrugs his shoulders when I ask him for specifics and the PM on the job I'm supposed to be going to shrugs his when I ask him. There is currently another employee on the other job and there really isn't room or need for two people. Not that is is a small project but all work is subcontracted and you really only need one superintendent. I have asked to sit down with my boss and followed up with an email asking the same. Come next week I will have nowhere to be and no duties to perform without some directive. It is a strange company with no real chain of command but at the same time it is not a small company. The project I just completed was worth 15 mil. and the one I'm going to has about 5 mil left in it. Any suggestions? Next week is two days from now
