Considering taking a gap year and working full time. I have no college degree, what type of jobs should I look for?
I just completed my freshmen year of college and it sucked. I managed to get a loan to pay half of tuition, and the other half i was able to split up into monthly payments, but i was also working to pay rent, gas, food, etc.
I was working so much that i basically failed all my classes. This year really got me thinking of whether or not to go to college, as I’m not really interested in engineering anyway, it’s just what my parents always assumed i’d do.
Anyway, i can’t afford to repeat last year, so i’m looking for a $12+ plus job for this year, between 30-40 hours a week that i can use to save up money or maybe get into some kind of trade?
I’m good at figuring out things, like basic electrical work, fixing appliances, and also DIY home repairs, etc. I can’t figure out what kind of job to get, in highschool i worked in food service and there’s no way i’m doing that full-time, i want to keep evenings open so that i can actually get 8 hours of sleep and still socialize.
I’m sorry if this is posted in the wrong sub, if it is someone please tell me an active subreddit to post this in.
If anyone has any suggestions please help, I don’t know what kind of job i should be applying for with me being 19 and no experience in anything. I was considering construction or something but winters coming up and i have no experience in that either.
