A researcher doing due diligence on behalf of an investor into my former employer just texted me

Someone just texted me saying they’re a researcher doing due diligence on behalf of a potential investor interested in my former employer...

Feels like a scam, but I know my former employer has been trying to raise money from various large organization, so perhaps this isn’t what it seems.

Even though they claim the conversation is confidential I have NOTHING to gain from this and I have no interest in having this conversation, unless there’s some sort of compensation involved.

I haven’t responded, but I feel like this it’s best I shouldn’t... though I’m slightly intrigued..
