BS in software engineering VS online certifications

Hello all, I’m a bit lost as far as what path to take in life. I have recently started looking into online coding schools to better my job outlook. The concept of getting paid well with just online coursework is very foreign to me, so I’m wondering what are my job prospects as a coder , developer, software engineer etc, who is self taught to someone who has a bachelors degree
