Applied for what I thought was a local job, turns out it's 800 miles away. They want an in-person interview. How do I respond?
I went through the phone interview, we talked about my experience and where I had worked: companies, office locations, etc. Nothing seemed off about it all, we arranged a date and time for next week's in-person interview with the hiring manager and that the recruiter would email me the details. I checked my email and the address is not what I expected.
My wife and I are actually open to relocating, but obviously I could not attend an in-person interview and still do my own job. Taking my lunch hour to do the interview is one thing, but an entire day is another thing entirely. What's the best way to formulate a response to ask for a remote interview? Anyone ever deal with this before?
