How long to wait before inquiring about a potential internal promotion.

Hello,

I was recently asked if I'd be interested in an internal promotion. Moving into more a managerial role within the company. I interviewed on 1/17/20, turned in a resume on 1/20/20. I have done this song and dance before, a couple months ago, but they went with a couple of other people. They are again looking to fill two positions, of which I am one of 5 applicants. I work with a couple of the other applicants and at least casually know the other 2. As far as I've heard, nobody has been offered a position yet.

When would it be appropriate to follow up with my manager about where we are at with this situation? I want to show that I'm still interested, but I don't want to get on their bad side and seem overly eager.
