I'd like to start by saying that no matter what I've thought or felt on the workplace, I've always been professional. With that being said, I was laid off from my amazing, career starting job just six months after starting. I NEVER had any kind of disciplinary action against me, not so much of a warning. Then, on Wednesday last, I was terminated. The attorney I worked for (legal assistant) told me he thought I was a good person and I'd make a great attorney, but I wasn't a "good fit". Now, this is a small firm, so if there was a problem before then, I would have definitely heard about it. At first I thought I was laid off because I had to take a few weeks off from work due to a major, we can no longer put it off, surgery. Now I'm wondering if maybe it has something to do with my personality. I'm not abrasive at all. In fact, people seem to love my sense of community, humor, and willingness to go above and beyond. However, I've also been called a dork and "weird". So, the big question is: is there just something wrong with me or am I taking this too personally?
