What to do when NY unemployment doesn’t return your calls?

This is my first time filing in this state. I’ve been waiting almost 5 weeks for my benefits because my former employer lied and told them I quit. This required me to send more forms. On 11/19 I receive a message through the online portal to call one of their claims agents by 10:15 am this morning.

I called and left 6-7 voicemails over 2 days with no call back. I’m worried my claim may be denied because I’m not able to give them whatever additional info they need. I’ve tried calling several numbers for NY unemployment and I can’t get a real person on the phone.
