I had a final round onsite interview at Amazon for a Senior Program Manager Role (Being Considered for 1 of 5 open positions) scheduled for Thursday 11/7 and yesterday they emailed me at 5 pm to cancel. They said they would change it to a virtual due to the interviewers being too busy during peak season.
I emailed them back asking them if they would be cancelling the flight and hotel they paid for because I had also purchased my wife a ticket to come with me to scope out the area and houses since we will need to relocate from Texas to Seattle if I get the job.
They emailed back saying because they were cancelling last minute, they would go ahead and pay for me to come out there and scope the area! Which I have to say this was very nice, since I said in an email that if they were cancelling I would still pay my own way to come see Seattle and just do the interview remotely.
I don’t want to read into this too much, but is this Amazon just being nice due to a last minute change or do you think they are extremely serious about offering me a role?
Thoughts?
