Traveling for 2 months - apply to jobs before I leave? or after I return?

Hi everyone, hope you can help me with this situation:

I'm a 2017 econ grad and I've been in customer success for roughly 2 years now, as a solutions engineer/professional services (aka software implementation) and a Client Success Manager. I don't know how to code but I can help manage projects that require code.

I'm planning to quit my job, travel for 2 months (mid oct to mid dec) and I'm struggling to decide if I should start applying to jobs now, or wait till I return.

My worry is that jobs posted now will most likely not have a start date of 4 months from now and if I wait till I return, I'll have an awkward gap in my resume.

I appreciate any advice!
