I graduated as a mechanical engineer. Got a job at one of the biggest construction companies.....but I so dissapointed for ao many reasons. I work in maintenance department and our project site comprises of of 5 staff maintaince people who look at the trade people. Only me and another person is an engineer. Why I am disapointed firstly because I am getting no engineering experience....All i get to do is punch few things on to the computer.......secondly no formal training is given to me...actually no one has the time to even talk to me...my supervisor who is not an engineer hardly get to speak with me once or twice in a week even though we sit in the same small container. Thirdly, everyone is down treating me and kind of orders me to do stuff ibstead of treating me as a team player. I know their attitude might have been different if i would be having any technical knowledge apart from theoritical knowledge(which is of no use at this job)....i am a soft spoken person and because of this I feel it gets very easy for the people to overcome me. Tbh I would not be minding listening other people rude comments only if i would get to learn a word or two every day. Trust me I try to learn as much as i could and strive hard for it. It feels like m wasting my initial job career and learning nothing merely for money. Sorry this has gotten too long but I feel terrible today especially after all the rude comments I have heard today. I am writing while being in the bus and thinking why should i even keep this job. Your advices please?
