I just went through a job search at the mid-senior level that lasted 3-4 months. First search in over 10 years. Things went well and I'm happy with where things landed. Like a lot of folks I had a bunch of phone interviews, a few in-person interviews, and ended up with a couple offers...only one of which I was excited about. I took that job.
One thing I have noticed is that nearly all of the positions I interviewed for and didn't get are still open and actively spamming for applicants. This is at least 4-5 months after their posting. These are senior career jobs ranging from no-name startups to places like McKinsey and Salesforce. They have to be getting hundreds of apps and hiring nobody at all. Once I was on the "other side", I learned the job I have now was an "evergreen posting", meaning it was always up until someone they liked enough showed up. I'm guessing this is the case with the others with them being open for so long.
What's been the experience with these? Just my field (digital design/tech) or common all over?
