How do I follow up with a company that I interviewed with and went through multiple rounds for a position earlier this year and tell them that I'm still interested when more positions open up in that department?

Last December I applied for a role I had all the qualifications for but never in a million years thought I'd interview with, Dream Company, bigger company with their own recruiters. competitive industry.

About a month later I was surprised to find out that they wanted a phone interview and I'd made it past the application.(I did have every bullet point under skills/qualifications, you still just don't expect to get that email for an interview)

The phone interview went good and I was called into an in person interview in a couple of weeks. That interview went really well too and I was asked to show them some things and send them like a compilation or portfolio afterward. I sent my Thank You Notes the next day and got that stuff together by the end of the week. After that nothing. Silence from them.

I either lost them in the portfolio round there or I reckon that I may have lost them due to something I said in the second interview. Unfortunately, I asked about start date because I had recently received a jury summons and my great uncle had also just died and we were waiting to find out when the funeral was.

I emailed them back twice, one each week following. Very short, once updating about jury duty and another saying that the funeral was a non-issue.

No response from the recruiter from either. I followed up a couple of weeks after asking for an update about the process in a professional manner and I did get a response. They had selected another candidate but it wasn't final yet, clearly they were just keeping all contacts waiting just in case the other person didn't work out.

During my second interview the main boss said that he thought about 7 more hires would come into that department over the course of the year. I feel like I had all the qualifications but really had bad timing there and would like to keep in touch to be considered for those future roles in that department. I would also like to say that if that same company has any other roles available that my resume fits that I would like to be considered too.

I'm not sure if trying to contact the recruiter she would even be professional about it or answer me. I do also have a supervisor's email from that department. I understand that they've been busy and just got back from a trip this weekend that they were hiring and gearing up for.

How can I most responsibly and professionally follow-up and explain that I'm still interested?
