How do I go about landing a new job in a city I do not live in? I have noticed that I think some of my job applications have been automatically booted out because my address is not in the state I am applying in. I really want to move south - but I don't know how to do accomplish this when I don't live in the state?
Background: I graduated with my B.S. in Chemistry in May 2018. I am currently working as Lab Technician in the New England area. I have been working at this job for a little over half a year. I am not in love with the job, the company, or the area that I live in. The only part of my job that I love is the people. I know I have not been at my current job for very long but I really want to move on into a different position. I am also looking to switch industries - and I know I will take a pay cut for that but at least I will find a job that is more interesting to me. I am also really wanting to move to new a city. I am considering Raleigh, NC, Austin, TX, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, etc. I know this is a very wide selection - essentially I want to move somewhere with a lower cost of living.
Thank you for your advice.
