Starting a career in IT - Need some help!

Let me start off by saying that I have a Bachelor's degree, but it isn't in IT. I acquired two different certifications and an internship last year to help gain some experience in the field.

It's going on 5 months of job searching, and I have an offer from a company that needs a response soon. The pay would be decent at $18/hr, but what is really putting me off are the hours. The schedule would rotate on a quarterly basis, with me working from 4am-1pm one quarter and then 1pm-10pm the other, which at least one weekend day a week. It's also temp-to-hire with no benefits until hired (will have to apply for gov healthcare).

My concerns are that I wouldn't have a proper work/life balance and that it would put a serious strain on my relationship with my girlfriend of 2+ years who already lives 50 minutes away who works traditional hours. I would also have to give up a part-time job that I enjoy on weeknights and weekends.

Should I just suck it up and take the position? Am I making a bigger deal out this than it actually is?
