I’m currently unemployed and looking for work. For the past 4 years I worked for a small team of life coaches who ran workshops around the world, primarily helping men in the realms of dating, relationship, fitness, and overall wellbeing.
My role in the company was split between sales and copywriting. On the sales front I arranged Skype calls with inbound leads which were 30 minute discussions, eventually resulting in a sales pitch of some kind. My approach was very gentle and hands off, as typical sales pitches aren't my style and did not seem to fit the clientele.
On the copywriting front I primarily wrote emails to accompany YouTube videos they released every 3-4 days, along with copy for their online product launches, and at times, their website.
I’m not particularly thrilled about doing this kind of work again. What I would love to do that is related to the improvements I made to their sales process, which was analysing things from a systems point of view. I was very passionate about making the process more efficient and streamlined, beginning with the form clients would fill out on the website, to the sales process I conducted over the phone, to on boarding them to coaching programs. As an example, by implementing a single change to our inquiry form I managed to cut down my weekly calls by 50% (about 2-4 hours per week on average) without costing the company any sales or loss in revenue.
I imagine there is some kind of need out there within companies to improve these processes, but I have no idea what to look for, where to start, or how to communicate my abilities in this field. I don’t have any qualifications or degrees in the area, its just a natural talent I seem to have picked up somewhere along the way.
