I've been job hunting for months trying to escape this job. I'm leaving because of the extreme racial and political statements made by the owner and supervisor, as well as some sexism issues. (It is a 5-person workplace and I'm the only woman.) I'm absolutely certain I'd be fired if they found out I was seeking a new job, and discredited if I spoke openly about what they've said. We currently can't afford to be reduced to a single-income household or I'd be gone already.
Speaking to my current employer is absolutely off the table, but that understandably sends up a red flag to potential employers. Is there a way around this question? A way to address it upfront?
