I’m graduating with my BS in about a week and had a really nice opportunity to interview with a company that I think would be a great fit.
I had two phone interviews before being invited to head to the company and look around so I could have a better idea what the role would be about. I met with the hiring manager and with the other person who has been my main contact until this point. This other person is not really on the hiring team of the company but they are specialized to look for people who fit the specific role they want. After I was done, they told me that one of the company’s main partners (who I did not meet yet) would be reaching out soon (this was yesterday).
I was never directly given the hiring manager’s email, but I noticed that it was on one of the Microsoft teams calendar events that was scheduled in my email (hopefully that makes sense). I did have a chance to talk with this manager during my 2nd phone interview as it was a 3 way call, and he seemed pleased with my prior experience (lab internship). When I met with him at the site he was also friendly and informative
I guess my question is would it be weird to send a follow up email to the hiring manager and thanking him for his time talking to me and showing me around the place? Just wondering since I haven’t been emailing with him previously
I think it’s still up in the air as to whether I’ve been officially hired, but I would like to pursue the opportunity as much as possible
