Remote work for new company: expectations for reimbursement for travel to/from HQ in another city (same state)
Can anyone speak to experience starting with a new employer working remotely (another city, same state) with semi-regular travel to the company HQ. I am hoping to have this kind of arrangement with a new employer and of course would prefer that they reimburse for the travel. So far my Googling hasn't come up with anything really definitive either way. Most articles seem focused on whether a company has to pay you for time spent traveling. I'd be a salaried employee so that's not a factor.
Specifics:
- live in Bay Area now, will be working mostly from home
- employer would be in LA area
- private company, going public this year (SPAC)
- most trips probably 1-3 days, typically traveling by air (direct nonstop) but might occasionally make a road trip of it
I can give more details if I've left out anything relevant. Thanks!
