I have a new hire starting tomorrow - my first one since COVID/WFH began. My hire will be in orientation tomorrow and will spend the rest of the week in the office. After that, we'll be back to WFH. Has anyone come up with any good ways to onboard in this climate? Have your onboarding checklists changed, what's been different, etc.?
Even though we'll both be in our offices, I feel like we will spend most, if not all, of our time virtually onboarding and getting things up-to-speed (it wasn't my call to have us in the office).
A fair amount of time will be spent on required training modules for regulatory/legal/compliance/etc. -- probably about 5-8 hours worth. I'm thinking of scheduling us to WFH on Friday and have my new hire complete these and start the weekend early.
Any thoughts? What have people learned over the past year?
