I'm a senior at a university near Pittsburgh. My girlfriend of 5 years (also a senior) interned in Dallas over the Summer, and was extended a full time job offer for after we graduate in May that she couldn't refuse. We've previously discussed moving to Dallas after we graduate, and she's making great money, so there's no issue with actually moving there.
The most daunting part about all of this is how I'm going to find a job in Dallas when I'm all the way in Pittsburgh. I'm fully confident in my ability to get a job and I have a sound resume, but I just have so many small concerns and questions. I do not want to have to start my job search until after I move there and be unemployed for a while.
Do I apply right now? Or should I wait until closer to graduation in May? Will some companies even look into me if I cannot interview in person? What can I do to keep an edge over other people interviewing face to face when I'll probably have to Skype or something? Will companies even hire me if I can't start for another few months, or will they probably hire people they can get in now?
I don't really have any one specific question about it, but any type of advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated! I'll have a dual major in Econ/Marketing if that helps.
