Is it dishonest or unprofessional to not tell my employer I am looking for another job?

I have been looking for another job for awhile now, and haven't told my employer that I am, because I figure that could lead to some awkward conversation.

However, this has been awkward another way because over the past month my employer has told me about all these things I will be doing with them over the next 6 months, the projects I will work on, the duties I will take on, etc

I kind of nod along but I feel dishonest basically pretending that I am with them for the long term when I would leave today if another job offer came through.

Should I be telling my boss "hey don't make long term plans for me" or should I just nod along and pretend I'm in it for the long term to avoid an awkward conversation???
