Hello. I'm split in my decision and need some guidance. I m being offered a research job at a hospital-academic center (big H) in Boston. The pay is $18hr - Pros: networking, pathway to graduate education etc. The job is transitioning in-person now. There is no COVID sick pay.
Currently I work full time in public health making $45/hr remotely with my job ending around Aug (my job is COVID-19 dependent).
I have hesitations because I'm not too thrilled going back into the office just yet (and the RA job in Boston can be done remotely 100%), the cost of Boston, and the massive pay cut and it's a 2-year commitment, but I love the research topic. Obv my current job now isn't lasting forever but I also value the freedom I'd have in the fall bc I'm think about traveling.
For my long term goals, Im still deciding between research and medicine. I'm graduating this May bachelors if that's helps. :)
