Negotiating a raise as a contractor

I'm about one step above new grad, have around 1-2 years experience in software development, and long story short left a very well-paying job (80k+ and good benefits) to relocate for personal reasons, which I don't regret one bit. Since March I'm now working for a non-tech company I actually really like working at, but on a long-term contract. No benefits. Seems that's just how they do things until you've been there a year or two. All the other devs started on contracts.

I think I've been doing well, good feedback from my department and manager, and I'd like to go for a raise when contract renewal time comes at the end of the year. What's the best way to handle this? I think I'm supposed to go to my contract agency (who I hardly ever speak with), but I think I'd make a lot more progress talking to my manager at work. Aside from the logistics, I plan on pointing to the things I've accomplished, but yeah...never asked for a raise before. Not sure if it would be useless to point out what I made at my last job, or compare myself to the other new folks who started when I did who I appear to have more responsibilities than, etc. Don't want to come off as dick, but also want to get it done. I'm looking to go from 26/hr to 31. Thanks.
